Is making it through the day draining? Does it feel like you have to work twice as hard for things that come easy to other people?
Does your to do list grow and grow (or do things never make it to your to do list)? Have you ever had to pay a late fee because you just couldn’t remember to pay a bill on time? Do you miss appointments (or completely forget to schedule them)? Do you work best under pressure? Can you spend hours completely focused on something unimportant, but struggle to get yourself to complete a chore that would take 5 minutes? You might be living with ADHD or have issues with your executive functioning skills. ADHD or executive functioning skills can make daily tasks or things that come easily to others feel like a major undertaking. They can make us feel like we’re lazy, useless, or just not trying as hard as everyone else around us.
Our Approach
At Jasper Therapy Group, we can help you better understand your ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) diagnosis, and we can help you improve your executive functioning skills. While we cannot give you a formal diagnosis for ADHD or provide medication, we can work with you to develop skills and routines that can help you day to day.
For some folks with ADHD, medication is as important as a pair of glasses for folks who can’t see without them. Even though we can’t prescribe medication, we understand that medication is a vital tool for many clients. Because of this, we are more than happy to help you get set up with a local psychiatrist who can give you a diagnosis for accommodations at work or school and who can prescribe and manage any medication you may need. Therapy can be another tool in your toolbox, along with medication.
